June 25- National Anthem
-Bethesda Big Train baseball game
Thursday, June 25th, arrive at
Povich Field at about 7 pm. We will begin to move out onto the
field about 7:15 and would sing around 7:25 pm. Shirley Povich
Field is located in Cabin John Regional Park in
north Bethesda. It's close to the Cabin John Ice Rink, if you're
familiar with that facility. It's about two blocks behind
Westfield Montgomery Mall shopping center just off Westlake
Terrace not far from the intersection of I-270 and Democracy
Blvd. We may stay for the game without buying tickets, the
ushers will rope off a section of seats so I need to know how
many people will be attending. The Oriole Bird
mascot and Louie from Bowie (the Bowie Baysox mascot) and the
Lemonade Shaking Guy will all be on hand to provide
entertainment that night. The ballgame will be against Youse's
Maryland Orioles, always a top team in the league.
Blue Polo, khakis, black folder.
Please print and practice the arrangement below. We will be a
cappella and will need a pitch pipe.
National Anthem (unison, a
cappella)
July 4- National Anthem with Concert Band @ fireworks,
Montgomery College stadium.
As in previous years, the
Rockville Chorus will sing the National Anthem during the
ceremony with the Mayor and Council. The ceremony is scheduled
at 8:45 p.m. so the chorus members should arrive at the stage
area no later than 8:30 p.m. that evening. July 5th is the
raindate.
We will be meeting at Dick &
Ethel Gilbert's, at 6 Clemson Ct at 7 pm. Their back fence is
adjacent to the Montgomery College parking lot near the stadium
near the top of the image below, and we can walk from their back
yard to the stadium. If you prefer not to walk, Dick will be
receiving 6 parking passes from the City that will allow you to
park closer to the stage, so meet at Dick's first to warm up and
get the pass, then drive over.
